\"Mom<\/a>Before I became a mom, people advised me to take the time I drive with my kids in the car as an opportunity to talk to them.\u00a0 I\u2019ve taken that idea on the road.\u00a0 I love the moments of bonding with my kids, hearing about their day, singing songs and having heart-to-hearts.\u00a0 The other day my son asked one of those really important questions during one of our drives.\u00a0 He said, \u201cHow do you know if you are doing what God wants?\u201d\"2004284_69\"<\/p>\n

I was feeling very pleased with myself in a moment of motherhood eloquence as I answered his question.\u00a0 I could tell my answer had an effecton him, as he was looking thoughtfully ahead into the passenger side mirror.\u00a0 I knew he was deep in thought, perhaps looking into his soul.\u00a0 \u00a0When he spoke I knew it would be profound\u2026 \u201cMom,\u201d (pause)<\/em> \u201chow do I not have a mustache right now?!\u201d<\/p>\n

And then the moment was gone.<\/p>\n

It just whizzed by.<\/p>\n

Gone.<\/p>\n

I wish I could tell you that later the conversation picked up where it left off.\u00a0 But in reality, I don\u2019t know if he heard a word I said, as he was so engrossed in the mystery of his facial hair.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s just kind of how motherhood goes doesn\u2019t it?\u00a0\"2004284_54\"<\/p>\n

My daughter recently said, \u201cWhen I grow up, the first one I want to be\u00a0like is Jesus\u201d (How perfect is that? As I hear this, I am mentally high fiving myself!),<\/em> \u201cand the second one I want to be like is you, because you are so awesome.\u201d (can I say proud momma?),<\/em> \u201cI don\u2019t want to be like Daddy,\u201d (what?!),<\/em> \u201cbecause he is a man.\u00a0 And I don\u2019t want to be a man.\u201d\u00a0(the things kids say sometimes!)<\/em><\/p>\n

I guess my kids are really thinking things through well\u2026well at least they are thinking\u2026even if they are saying things like, \u201cIt\u2019s not my fault I am a good farter!\u201d\u00a0 (my son didn\u2019t say this\u2014my daughter did).\u00a0 Or \u201cMy pits stink! They are wet and furry!\u201d\u00a0 (that one WAS my son).\u00a0 Or my personal favorite quote, a commentary on my motherhood\u2026 \u201cI\u2019m hotness\u2019s son.\u201d\u00a0 Yeah, I guess at least they are learning something.<\/p>\n

I am a Hot momma.<\/p>\n
