Put healthy foods in and, along with a dialed skin care regime, you will have healthy looking, fantastic skin. The article &#8220;<a title=\"Foods For Healthy Skin\" href=\"http:\/\/www.webmd.com\/skin-problems-and-treatments\/features\/skin-food\">Foods For Healthy Skin<\/a>&#8221; was very thorough, yet concise on what the best choices are to achieve healthy skin through what you eat.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size:small;\">For your convenience I have broken out the gist of what types foods are suggested. I&#8217;m including some tips and my favorites too.<\/p>\n<h4>Low-fat dairy products<\/h4>\n<p>a low fat spreadable swiss cheese &#8211; The Laughing Cow has great cheese that comes in many different flavors.<\/p>\n<p>low fat yogurt &#8211; vanilla Wallabey Yogurt is so creamy and delicious it almost feels like a treat<\/p>\n<p>Milk &#8211; we are often told skim, but really the caloric difference for 1% is not so much and it tastes a lot less like milk flavored water. I like to add some chocolate flavored, 100% whey protein to an 8oz. glass in the morning.<\/p>\n<h4>Blackberries, blueberries, strawberries and plums<\/h4>\n<p>When out of season, go for the frozen variety. Since they are frozen at the peak of \u00a0freshness frozen berries are optimal in nutrients.<\/p>\n<h4>Salmon, walnuts, canola oil, flax seed<\/h4>\n<p>Flax seeds can be added to anything from spaghetti sauce to oatmeal.<\/p>\n<p>If you don&#8217;t like the taste of walnuts, grind some up and add them to almost anything without really tasting them.<\/p>\n<h4>Healthy oils (in moderation)<\/h4>\n<p>&#8220;cold pressed, expeller processed, or extra virgin are the ones to look for.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h4>Whole wheat breads, muffins and cereals; turkey, tuna and brazil nuts<\/h4>\n<p>Granny&#8217;s Delight 100% whole wheat &#8211; found at Harmon&#8217;s, this bread packs in 6g fiber, 3g protein and only 80 calories per slice. It is made in Kaysville, UT as well &#8211; so for the Utahns reading this &#8211; it is local! When purchasing whole \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0wheat bread make sure that that is the first ingredient and look for \u00a05+ grams of fiber per slice.<\/p>\n<h4>Green Tea<\/h4>\n<p>Any suggestions on brands would be appreciated &#8211; I have only tried Stash.<\/p>\n<h4>Water<\/h4>\n<p>At least half of your body weight in ounces. So if you weigh 130 lbs, you should drink 65oz. The article points out the exact amount you should drink varies, I got this amount from a chiropractor who specializes in wellness.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size:small;\">Here are some examples of how to combine more than two of the above categories:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Yogurt with blueberries and a tablespoon of walnuts, and maybe even a tablespoon of flax seeds.<\/li>\n<li>Whole wheat bread with spreadable low-fat swiss cheese and tuna<\/li>\n<li> Salmon cooked in extra-virgin olive oil<\/li>\n<li>Sliced strawberries and blackberries with half a whole wheat muffin<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size:small;\">So those are just a few examples, the combinations can be as creative as you are.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We all know the old saying &#8220;you are what you eat.&#8221; So the same goes for wanting healthy skin.
